TATA's experienced driver guide will collect you from
your hotel at a time that is most suitable to you for a leisurely tour
of the city and suburbs.
We will take you past Sky Tower as we head for the
Auckland Harbour Bridge, travelling to Takapuna Beach and on to
Devonport and Mt Victoria where we will have a panoramic view of the
city from atop one of Aucklands many extinct volcanoes
We then cross the harbour to the Westhaven Marina and
the Viaduct Harbour area. This was significantly redeveloped at the
time of the Americas Cup , the worlds most prestigious yachting trophy
and now the scene of Aucklands entertainment & restaurant area and
the Maritime Museum
We carry on along the waterfront to the suburbs of
Remuera and St Heliers where we have a chance to see the varied
architecture of this area.
If desired we will stop at one of many sidewalk cafes
along the waterfront for morning or afternoon coffee break and watch
the world go by for a while ( optional )
A short visit to Bastion Point allows us to enjoy the
sunken gardens here and the outstanding harbour & city views. A
good photographic opportunity. We pass the beautiful Parnell Rose
Gardens ( at its best from November to February ) on our way past St
Marys Holy Trinity Cathedral , built in 1884 then to Auckland Domain
and the Auckland War Memorial Museum and the Wintergardens. Will have a
look here
at New Zealands sporting emblem , the Silver Fern.
Time permitting , we complete our tour with a trip up Mt
Eden, the highest of the volcanic cones, giving an
alternative perspective to that gained from Mt Victoria
Finally returning through Albert Park and Auckland
University
We arrive back at your hotel after 4 hours of touring
